Reportedly on NJ.com a Hackensack man was arrested on charges claiming he sexually assaulted a girl when she was 12-years-old, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office said.
Jorge L. Gonzalez, 32, remained held at the Bergen County Jail on charges of aggravated sexual assault and child endangerment, county Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said in a news release.
The girl, now 17, recently told child welfare officials about what happened between her and Gonzalez, according to Molinelli. Agency officials alerted the prosecutor’s office, which also notified the Maywood police.
The prosecutor said Gonzalez knew the girl, but did not elaborate.
Molinelli said the girl provided “specific details” about what happened during an interview with the prosecutor’s Special Victims Unit and police.
Gonzalez was ordered held on $150,000 bail, with no 10 percent option, ahead of a court hearing April 10, authorities said. He must also surrender his passport and not have any contact with the girl.
