A report found on NJ.com stated a woman in Bloomingdale is facing weapons charges after she pointed a loaded handgun at a police officer early Saturday, department spokesperson Sgt. Ron Frost stated.
Officers Michael Fatzer and Vincent Graziosa responded to the parking lot of the Quik Chek, 132 Hamburg Turnpike, around 2:45 a.m. after a woman called for help, Frost said. The officers found 58-year-old Diane Tireney of Butler, who reportedly appeared intoxicated, slurring her words and throwing herself backwards as she sat on a curb while talking to police.
When Fatzer was helping Tireney back up, he allegedly saw her pull a silver handgun out of her pocket, which she then pointed at Graziosa. Fatzer grabbed the gun, a .357 Magnum Smith and Wesson loaded a with a single hollow-point bullet, Frost said.
Tireney was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, as well as DWI after officers learned she had driven to the parking lot, Frost said. She was being held on $50,000 bail.
