Heroin dealer arrested after slipping on ice in Paterson, Police Say

Investigators from the county’s Bureau of Narcotics, saw Tyshon Corbett, repeatedly drive through the area of East Main and North Main streets around 4:30 p.m. as they had the area under surveillance

Police attempted to stop Corbett’s vehicle at North 1st and Halpine streets after determining the registration was suspended, but Corbett left the car and ran, Berdnik said. He allegedly then tossed a brick of heroin and then slipped on ice while trying to run from pursuing police, Passaic County Sheriff Richard H. Berdnik said. Officers arrested him after he fell on the frozen sidewalk.

Berdnik said that in addition to the heroin he discarded, Corbett was also carrying another four bricks, totaling 250 envelopes with an estimated street value of more than $1,000.

He has been charged with possession with intent to distribute and resisting arrest by flight.
