The Paterson Police are looking for a man who allegedly attempted to rob a cab driver on Wednesday. Police have identified the suspect as a 25-year old man known as, Jaime Valentin.
The driver, who works for Alpha Car Service, told police he picked up a fare in the 100 block of North 2nd Street. The man asked to be taken to the 100 block of Highland Street, Capt. Herberto Rodriguez said.
When they arrived, Jaime Valentin, allegedly slashed a cab driver with a pocketknife and attempted to rob the driver, who fought back. Valentin, who faces robbery and weapons charges, fled on foot, while the driver suffered cuts to his hands, Rodriguez said.
