Woman arrested on drug charges also accused in heroin death according to Passaic County Sheriff

According to a story on NJ.com, a Ringwood Township woman who is already facing charges of selling the heroin that killed a man, was arrested again on Tuesday on new drug distribution offenses after a car stop, authorities said.
Amanda Lee, 23, was in a 2001 Mercedes Benz with Rosa Alexa Hayr, 19, of Paterson, when Passaic County Sheriff s Officers Atli Sela and Joseph Royce stopped the car at 17th Avenue and Rosa Parks Boulevard, according to Sheriff Richard H. Berdnik. The two women had 17 grams of marijuana, wrapped in 19 baggies, with an estimated street value of $340, the sheriff said in a statement. Both were arrested on charges including marijuana possession and possession with the intent to distribute the drug within 1000 feet of the city’s Roberto Clemente School.
Passaic County prosecutors in June charged Lee with manslaughter under the state s Strict Liability for Drug-Induced Death law for selling heroin to 27-year-old Kenneth Durfee, who died in an overdose from the drugs last February, authorities said. She was released from the county jail June 28 and those charges were still pending.
Lee was being held at the Paterson Police Department s cell block on the new charges, according to the sheriff. For more information on this story visit:
