William Paterson University is now part of what seems to be a recurring issue of sexual assault on College campuses all over the United States. Five male students at William Paterson University were arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a woman Tuesday in a campus residential hall, according to school president Kathleen Walderon.
In a message to the students Walderon stated, All five men have been barred from campus.” She also stated I am angry and dismayed that this crime was committed on our campus and allegedly by students
The men, all lived on campus and all 18 were identified as Noah Williams, of Camden, Tremaine Scott of Vineland, Darius Singleton of Jersey, Garret Collick of Paterson and Jahmel Latimer of Hoboken.
They are all being held at Passaic County Jail on $200,000 according to inmate records. The alleged incident happened a few days before campus let out for Thanksgiving break November 25.
Walderon said, the alleged victim was attended by University counselors and police officers as soon as she reported the incident.
“My deepest concern is for the victim of this criminal act who has courageously stepped forward to take legal action and seek justice,” the school president said in a statement. “No expression of anger or sadness on my part can alleviate the harm done to the victim and my heart goes out to her and her family. I offer the full support of the University community.
