Rowan College Students Charged with Possession. Distribution of Drugs

rowanOfficers from the Glassboro Police Department recently conducted a search of a Rowan University dormitory that resulted in four separate arrests. The charges against those arrested include: possession with intent to distribute controlled dangerous substances (CDS), possession of CDS, possession of CDS paraphernalia, as well as possession with intent to distribute CDS within a school zone.

During the raid, which occurred at approximately 7 a.m. on December 12th, police discovered approximately 100 doses of LSD, three-quarters of a pound of MDMA, under 50 grams of marijuana and a variety of items used for drug manufacturing and packaging. The articles confiscated also include $28,942, which was found in a safe located in the dormitory. Glassboro Police reported that the street value of the LSD is approximately $2,000, while that of the MDMA is approximately $30,000.

The four individuals arrested include two current students at Rowan University, 19-year-old B.T. and 19-year-old B.B. The two other 19-year-olds arrested were New Jersey residents D.L., from Pompton Lakes, and K.M., from Middletown.

B.T., who is from Manchester, is facing the most extensive list of charges, including: possession with intent to distribute LSD, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession with intent to distribute MDMA, and possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance within a school zone. He is currently being held at Gloucester County Jail, with his bail set at $50,000 to be paid in full in cash.

Possession with intent to distribute CDS in a school zone is a violation subject to sentencing under the “Brimage Guidelines,” which eliminates the defense attorney’s opportunity to argue for a downward departure at the time of sentencing.

B.B., who is from Bogota, is facing charges for possession of marijuana and possession of CDS paraphernalia. The amount of marijuana was less than 50 grams and the paraphernalia was in the form of a metal grinder, according to reports. D.L. and K.M. are also facing possession of marijuana charges, as they were allegedly carrying less than 50 grams each.

Gloucester Police have announced that they will continue their investigation, coordinating with officers from the Pitman and Rowan University police departments.
